Home loans, minus the sales pitch
Seek Mortgages is an independent Australian publication with one job: to explain how home loans work in language a normal human can follow. We are not a broker, a lender or a comparison site chasing a commission. We publish, and that is all.

Why we exist
Anyone who has looked into a mortgage knows the feeling. The topic is enormous, the stakes are high, and almost every website explaining it has a form at the bottom trying to capture your details. It is hard to learn calmly when everything you read is also selling something.
We built Seek Mortgages to be the opposite of that. Every page is written to be read, not to convert. There is no enquiry form, no rate table nudging you toward one lender, and no salesperson waiting on the other end. If a guide does its job, you finish it understanding the topic well enough to have a sharper conversation with a real broker, lender or adviser.
What we are, and what we are not
We are
- An independent education publication
- Focused on Australian home loans and mortgages
- Written in plain English, with cited sources
- Free to read, with no product being sold
We are not
- A mortgage broker or lender
- A provider of credit assistance or financial advice
- A lead-generation or enquiry service
- Able to arrange, recommend or approve a loan
How we work
Our standards are simple and we hold ourselves to them on every page.
- Sources, not vibes. Figures are attributed to their origin, such as the Australian Bureau of Statistics, APRA, the ATO or ASIC Moneysmart, so you can check them yourself.
- Dated content. Every guide carries a last-updated stamp. Rules and rates change, and we would rather you know how fresh a page is than guess.
- General information, stated plainly. We say general information, not advice, because that is exactly what this is. Your circumstances are yours, and only a licensed professional who knows them can advise you.
- Original and ad-light. Words and illustrations are our own. No stock photos, no third-party trackers dressing up the content.
Where the money question goes. Because we do not sell loans or leads, the usual conflict of interest is not in the room. If that ever changes, we will say so plainly on this page. Being clear about it is the whole point of calling ourselves independent.
Who writes this
Seek Mortgages is produced by a small editorial team that researches, drafts and reviews each guide against primary sources. We write under the publication's name rather than inventing credentials, because what should earn your trust is the quality and the citations, not a byline. The site is published by NULLBYTE PTY LTD.
General information only. This guide explains how home loans work in Australia in broad terms. It is not financial or credit advice and does not take account of your objectives, situation or needs. Seek Mortgages is an independent publication, not a mortgage broker, lender or financial adviser, and we do not arrange loans. Rates, caps and eligibility rules change often, so always confirm the current detail with the relevant provider or regulator, and consider getting advice from a licensed professional before you act.
